Roddy Guest

Roddy Guest serves as an assistant coach for the Elon men’s golf program. He enters his fourth season with the Phoenix in 2026-27, having made an immediate impact alongside Elon Director of Golf and Men’s Golf Head Coach Don Hill in his first three years on staff.

Guest arrived at Elon with a reputation for player development and more than two decades of experience in the golf industry at PGA of America and as a head professional at Prestwick Country Club in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Guest was the recipient of the 2001 Titleist Scholarship Award, bestowed as one of the highest honors that a PGA Professional can receive.

Guest became one of the youngest head golf professionals in Myrtle Beach at age 24 when he started his tenure at Prestwick CC. He also served a number of prestigious country clubs around the country, including Greensboro Country Club (NC) and Scioto Country Club (OH).

Guest’s reputation as a player development coach gained traction during his time spent with PGA of America, as he was voted one of the top instructors in Ohio. He arrived at Elon with more than 40,000 individual lessons in which over 1,000 of his students shot their career best score. More than 25 high school student-athletes received Division I scholarships under his tutelage, along with coaching the No. 1-ranked junior player in the state of North Carolina.

Guest’s students include club champions, a Korn Ferry Tour winner, state amateur champions, a semifinalist in the U.S. Senior Amateur Golf Championship, a quarterfinalist in the Women’s U.S. Amateur Championship, AJGA champions and more.

A late bloomer to the game of golf, Guest started playing in his late teens and became a walk-on at Coastal Carolina University. In 1992, playing in his first CGA major, Guest finished runner-up in the South Carolina Match-Play.
