Stewart made his second stint at Denver last season, spending a year as an assistant coach. The program went 23-1, including a 5-0 mark in the Summit League, and won the Summit League Tournament Championship in convincing 4-0 fashion over Drake. Throughout an undefeated regular season, Denver posted victories over Oregon, Purdue, Wisconsin, Utah, New Mexico and Boise State.

Stewart was also an assistant coach at Denver for the 2021-22 season and he helped the Pioneers to a 15-7 record and a trip to the Summit League Tournament Championship. Denver was ranked as high as No. 45 in the national ITA rankings during the season.

In the 2020-21 season, Stewart began his coaching career as a volunteer assistant at Arizona, helping the program to its first NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearance in program history. The team earned its highest national ranking (No. 15) and best Pac-12 finish (second place) in Arizona history as well.

Stewart is a 2018 graduate of the University of Washington, where he was a standout player. He was four-time second team All Pac-12, never playing below the No. 2 singles line in his career. As a senior, Stewart earned the ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and Sportsmanship Award for the Northwest Region.
