Tyler Engle

Tyler Engle is in his second season as an assistant coach for the Elon softball program. Engle arrived from Ohio Valley University after serving as a graduate assistant coach and assists head coach Kathy Bocock in defense and hitting while working with the infielders.

In his first year at Elon, Engle saw the Phoenix batters set a new program record with 53 home runs in 2014. Engle also helped with the development of third baseman Aly Quintana earn the program's Gold Glove award.

At Ohio Valley, Engle worked with the infield and was the third base coach for the Fighting Scots. Under his guidance, two players ranked among the top-10 in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in doubles.
 
Prior to Ohio Valley, Engle was a four-year letterman for the Ohio State baseball team as the starting shortstop. He ended his career with the Buckeyes in the top five all-time in games started and played at the school and helped the Buckeyes reach the NCAA Regional in 2009. In NCAA Regional play, Engle reached base in all but one postseason contest and batted .455. 

Engle earned his bachelor’s in education at Ohio State in 2011 and completed his master’s from Ohio Valley in education in May 2013.
