Cameron Ringstead joined Elon as an assistant sports performance coach in July of 2018. In 2019, Ringstead was elevated from the role of assistant sports performance coach to head sports performance coach. In 2025 he was elevated to Director of Sports Performance.
Prior to joining Elon's sports performance staff in July 2018, Ringstead earned his master's in exercise science degree from Springfield College. As the strength & conditioning graduate assistant for the Pride, he was responsible for program design and implementation for football, men's soccer, men's basketball, and track & field throwers.
While completing a sports and exercise degree at the University of Chester, Ringstead spent the summer of 2015 working with the University of Richmond's men's basketball team. As an undergrad, he also interned with the Warrington Wolves Rugby Club, where he oversaw speed development and helped develop explosiveness, coordination, and basic functional movements. After graduating from Chester, he interned at The College of the Holy Cross (Spring 2017) and Oregon State University (Summer 2017). He completed his PhD in Sports Leadership in 2025 from Concordia University Chicago.
Ringstead holds multiple certifications, including NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, Titleist Performance Institute Certified – Power Level 3, FMS L1, Precision Nutrition L1, and Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED.
Ringstead's contributions to Elon University Athletics during his tenure include:
- Directed the training of the 2021 men’s basketball team that appeared in CAA tournament championship game
- Directed the training of the 2019 baseball team that won the regular season CAA championship
- During this time he assisted in the development of MLB draft picks George Kirby (first round, No. 20 overall), Kyle Brnovich (eight round), Ty Adcock (eighth round), and Cam Devanney (15th round)
- Directed the training of the 2020 men’s basketball team that made the semi-final round of the CAA championships
- Assisted the football team in preparation for their 2018 season which ended with a trip to the FCS playoffs, while being ranked as high as No. 5 nationally
- Directs the Elon Performance nutrition program
