Sandra Bays became Elon's head coach for cheerleading and dance in 2001. Her responsibilities include coaching the dance team, all-girl and co-ed cheer teams, the youth cheer team and mascots. Bays is a 1999 Elon graduate with a degree in corporate communications. She also received her teaching certification from Elon in 2001 in elementary education. She was a four-year varsity letterwinner, three-year team captain and two-time MVP on the co-ed cheer team during her undergraduate career at Elon.
