Elon head women’s soccer coach announced the addition of Julie Isley to his staff in May of 2012. Isley will serve as an assistant coach for the Phoenix.
“I am very excited to be bringing Julie on board. She is a very passionate and experienced young coach that will compliment Stuart [Horne] and I well,” Neal said. “We had a tremendous amount of interest in this position, from very qualified coaches, but Julie’s credentials and enthusiasm quickly propelled her to the top of our list. I know she is extremely excited to put on her new maroon Elon gear and to get started.”
Isley comes to Elon after serving as the assistant director of coacing for the Greensboro United Soccer Association, one of the largest soccer clubs in the state of NC, since 2008.
Since 2009, Isley has served as a staff coach with the North Carolina Olympic Development Program and is currently working with the Girls 1998 age group that will be competing at the prestigious USYSA Region III camp held in Alabama in June.
In 2005, Isley served as the volunteer assistant coach at her alma mater, Lenoir-Rhyne College, after a successful playing career for the Bears which saw her earn captain and All-South Atlantic Conference honors.
Isley holds a bachelor of science in sport and exercise science from Lenoir-Rhyne and a masters degree in exercise science with concentration in sport management from East Carolina.
Isley also holds a USSF “C” license, the USSF “National Youth” license and the NSCAA “Director of Coaching” diploma.
Isley will also represent Elon women’s soccer in the community in her capacity as assistant director of coaching for the local Burlington Soccer Club Cardinals.
