Marchelle Davis begins her first season as a volunteer assistant coach with the Elon Phoenix women's soccer coaching staff in 2017.
 
Davis joins the Phoenix staff after finishing her career as a standout forward at the University of North Texas, where she helped lead the Mean Green to an Conference USA title and an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2015.
 
During her playing career, which included one year at the University of Texas, Davis played in 84 total matches during her four-year career. She scored a total of 20 goals and had 12 assists for 52 total points.
 
Davis had a stellar senior season for the Mean Green scoring nine goals and tallying eight assists to earn All-Conference USA Second Team honors. She also was named to the Conference USA Championship All-Tournament team as a captain and a two-time conference player of the week selection. As a junior in 2015, she led North Texas to the NCAA Tournament and guided the Mean Green to a 19-4-1 record.
 
Prior to North Texas, Davis played at the University of Texas as a freshman in 2013. She played in 19 matches and made seven starts after coming out of high school as the No. 25-ranked prospect out of Texas according to TopDrawerSoccer.com. She scored two goals and added an assist for the Longhorns.
 
In addition, Davis had some coaching experience as a player working at the Mean Green Soccer Camps at North Texas as a Camp Coach and Counselor, instructing up to 200 soccer players and assisting with the planning of drills and practices.
 
Davis currently resides in Elon, N.C.
