Daniel Christian was named assistant coach of the women's tennis program in the summer of 2022, as announced by Head Coach Elizabeth Anderson.
Christian came to Elon after spending the last two years in Greensboro, N.C., during which he served as the assistant tennis pro at Starmount Forest Country Club and as the assistant boys tennis coach at Grimsley High School.
A 2021 graduate of the University of Lynchburg, Christian played four years of collegiate tennis, posting a 24-14 singles record and a 19-13 doubles record with the Hornets. As a sophomore in 2019, he registered a team-best 11-6 singles record and an 8-7 doubles record at Nos. 1 and 2. He then went 9-2 in singles and 6-1 in doubles as a junior in 2020 to earn VaSID second-team all-state honors before going 4-6 in singles and 5-5 in doubles as a senior. Over his last two seasons, he also served as team captain.
A Statesville, N.C., native, Christian played high school tennis at Statesville Christian, where he won three state championships, earned all-state honors three times and was once named team MVP.
