Tim Palmer joined the Phoenix in August 2012 as an Academic Assistant and became an Academic Coordinator in 2014. He monitors the academic progress of athletes on assigned teams. Palmer graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2010 with a bachelor's degree in sport management and a minor in business. As a student, he served as a television reporter for women’s basketball, a game day assistant for athletic marketing and public address announcer for field hockey. In 2012, he received his master's degree in sport management from UCONN, while also serving as the volunteer director of operations for the women’s soccer team. Palmer has additionally served as an intern in the Franklin Pierce University athletic department in and with the Boston Breakers of WPS.
