Deanna Cardamone came to Elon in August 2019. Cardamone serves as an Academic Coordinator for Academic Support for Athletics and monitors the academic progress of student-athletes on the women’s soccer, women’s track & field, men’s and women’s cross country, and football teams.
Prior to her arrival at Elon, Cardamone was at North Carolina State University from 2016-2019 and served multiple roles in their Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes. Cardamone first started as a mentor working closely with a variety of student-athletes mainly assisting with time management, organization, writing and study strategies. While completing her Master of Education, Cardamone served as a graduate assistant and provided advising services to student-athletes on the women’s soccer, men’s tennis, gymnastics, and wrestling teams. After completing graduate school, Cardamone was hired as an assistant academic coordinator primarily supporting upperclassmen on the football team but also working closely with the men’s soccer and men’s tennis teams.
Originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Cardamone earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from East Carolina University in 2014 and a Master of Education degree in College Counseling and Student Development from North Carolina State University in 2017.
Cardamone lives in Durham, North Carolina, with her husband, Chris, and their black lab, Luke.
