Aaron Mellette was named Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Services in January of 2022. A former Elon football star, Mellette returns to his alma mater.
Most recently, Mellette served as the athletics director at Lee Christian School in Sanford, N.C. since June of 2021. He also served as a site coordinator for the Positive Director for Youth program in Sanford and as a basketball coach for Back to Basics basketball.
Mellette also served as a sales associate for Brand RPM, event coordinator at Christian Provision Ministries, and was a ticket sales associate in Elon Athletics.
After a standout football career at Elon, Mellette was selected in the seventh round of the 2013 NFL Draft by the Baltimore Ravens and made the 53-man roster in 2013. He also spent time with the New York Jets. He was Elon's 2011 Stein H. Basnight Outstanding Athlete Award Winner after being named a two-time consensus AP First Team All-American.
