Andrew Katzenberger was named Assistant Athletics Director for Development in February 2026. He works closely with donors to support the Phoenix Rising initiative, sport specific giving, and restricted funds, while also helping advance all other Phoenix Club fundraising efforts.
Prior to his time at Elon, Katzenberger spent multiple years with East Carolina University and the Pirate Club. During his tenure, he played a key role in a successful capital campaign, supporting fundraising efforts for the Pirates Unite campaign. These initiatives helped fund a new baseball facility, an indoor practice facility, renovations to Minges Coliseum, and upgrades to team facilities across the athletic campus. In addition, Katzenberger supported all Pirate Club fundraising initiatives and spearheaded the implementation & launch of the Pledge Per Touchdown campaign prior to the 2025 football season.
Katzenberger also gained experience with the athletic ticket sales team at NC State. Prior to his time in North Carolina, he served as Assistant Director of Ticket Operations at the University of Washington where he began his professional career.
A 2019 graduate of Eastern Washington University, Katzenberger was a student-athlete on the football team. During his time as an Eagle, he was a part of two Big Sky Conference Championships and a National Runner up in the 2018 FCS Championship. He later earned his master’s degree in sports management from the University of Florida.
