Carl Gedlitschka began as an assistant women's tennis coach in August 2026.
Gedlitschka joined Elon’s coaching staff after a prolific four-year playing career at Cleveland State from 2023-26. He peaked as high as No. 58 in the ITA doubles rankings and finished top five in all-time singles wins in Cleveland State’s history.
A three-year captain for the Vikings, Gedlitschka helped Cleveland State to the 2024 Horizon League championship. His 27 singles wins in 2024 were the seventh most ever in a season by a Viking. He was an All-Horizon League First Team selection in 2025 and received the league’s Sportsmanship Award in 2026.
A Greensboro native, Gedlitschka played high school tennis at Grimsley and won the 2021 4A state singles championship as a junior.
