Madysen Kontio joined the Elon University Facilities and Event Management staff in November of 2021 as the assistant director of event management and facilities. She was elevated to director of event management and facilities in the fall of 2024. Kontio was promoted to the Assistant Athletics Director for Events, Facilities, & Capital Projects in August of 2025.
In her role, Kontio leads our game operations and athletics facilities team, helping ensure our events continue to create exceptional experiences for student-athletes, fans, and the entire campus community. Kontio assists with all aspects of event operations, to include the supervision of game day staff and to ensure all operational needs are met. In her role, she helps coordinate event management for home contests and facility usage, monitors all athletics facilities for any repairs or maintenance, and assists game day officials.
Kontio earned her bachelor’s degree in business management from Saginaw Valley in May of 2021.
As a student at Saginaw Valley State University, she was a game day assistant, an intramural referee and participant, and a member of the club volleyball team. Before her time at Elon, Kontio completed a summer internship with Green Bay Booyah Baseball in Wisconsin working in event operations. Her roles included managing game day employees within concession operations and preparing the ballpark for game days.
