Matthew Isom is in his first season with the Phoenix in 2026 as an offensive quality control and assistant offensive line coach. Isom joins the Phoenix after serving as a graduate assistant and offensive tackles/tight ends coach at Waynesburg University.
In his time at Waynesburg, Isom served as a graduate assistant for the Yellow Jackets. Isom had many responsibilites with the tight ends and offensive line including overseeing daily practice plans, leading individual drills and breaking down film. At Waynesburg, he coached a pair of all-conference players.
A gradute of Averett University, Isom was a stand out on the offensive line for the Cougars. Isom was a three-time, all-ODAC player on the offensive line and served as a team captain.
