Nicholas Millington joined the Elon University athletics staff as Director of Compliance in 2025.
Millington spent most of his legal career as an associate attorney specializing in financial transactions at two New York-based international law firms, but also enjoyed helping pro bono clients with immigration matters. Before joining Elon, Millington worked at Morgan State University as an Adjunct English Professor and Director of Compliance for the Athletics Department.
A former student-athlete of the Elon men's soccer team, Millington grew up in Raleigh and represented the United States under -15s, 17s- and 20s-men’s soccer teams prior to becoming a student athlete. He joined Wake Forest University in 2008 as a member of the men's soccer team. In 2010, he transferred to Elon University and in 2011, as a co-captain, helped lead the team to a Southern Conference Tournament Championship, in which he was awarded the Most Outstanding Player award. After graduation, Nicholas played professional soccer for the Carolina Railhawks (now North Carolina Football Club) in the North American Soccer League and participated in international friendlies and World Cup qualifiers with Guyana.
Millington graduated from Elon with a degree in political science (with honors). He later obtained a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
