Nick DiMarco was named Director of Strength & Conditioning in February of 2018. Since then, the Strength and Conditioning Department was rebranded to Sports Performance in 2019. DiMarco was named Assistant Athletics Director for Sports Performance in the summer of 2022, and the Assistant Athletics Director for Peak Performance in 2025.
  
In this role he oversees sports performance, sports nutrition, and sports science efforts for all Elon athletics programs.

Prior to coming to Elon, DiMarco spent three years with the Iowa Hawkeyes (2015-2018) as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the football program. During his time with the Iowa Football program, the team experienced tremendous success. The 2015 team went undefeated in the regular season, being ranked as high as #3 nationally, and competed in both the Big Ten Championship game as well as the Rose Bowl. The Hawkeyes finished the 2015 season 12-2 with a final ranking of #9. The 2016 team finished 8-5 with a trip to the Outback Bowl on New Year’s day. The 2017 finished the season 8-5, and concluded the season with a win in the Pinstripe Bowl. During his tenure at Iowa, the team compiled a 28-12 record. While at Iowa he assisted in the development of 4 NFL first round drafts, and 26 NFL draft picks total. During his tenure, multiple athletes received national post-season awards. Desmond King won the Jim Thorpe award (2015), the offensive line won the Joe Moore Award (2016), Josey Jewell was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2017), and also won the Jack Lambert Award, Josh Jackson was named the Big Ten Defensive Back of the Year, and was a finalist for the Jim Thorpe Award (2017). Four players during his tenure received unanimous All-American Honors. DiMarco has provided training for multiple professional athletes during the off-season including Super Bowl Champions Jake Gervase and Ben Niemann.

DiMarco rejoined the Iowa program after playing in the NFL as an outside linebacker in 2014. He spent time with the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens.
 
DiMarco previously was an intern with the Iowa football program during the summer of 2013.
 
Prior to this, he was an undergraduate assistant with the strength and conditioning program at William Penn University, where he was a member of the football team. DiMarco designed and implemented all phases of strength and conditioning for the track and field throwers and jumpers, along with the women’s basketball team, and assisted with training of all sports during his time at William Penn.
  
DiMarco earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education with an emphasis in strength and strength and conditioning from William Penn in 2014. He later earned a Master of Science in Exercise Science, with an emphasis in performance enhancement and injury prevention, from California University of Pennsylvania in 2016. He went on to receive his PhD in Health and Human Performance from Concordia University Chicago in 2025.
 
DiMarco holds multiple certifications, including: SCCC, CSCS, TPI 1, PES, CPR/AED, and PN1.
 
He currently resides in Burlington with his wife Breann and two children, Olivia and Henry. 

 
DiMarco's contributions to Elon University Athletics during his tenure include:
  • Six different teams have won the CAA Championship
  • The 2018 football team made an NCAA playoff appearance and was ranked as high as No. 5 nationally
  • Multiple athletes have gone on to become professional athletes, including multiple MLB draft picks, and one NFL draft pick
  • Assisted in the development of two former staff members that went on to earn Director of Sports Performance roles at other institutions
  • Has assisted in the development of 10 assistant sports performance coaches who have gone on to earn promotions at other institutions
  • Launched and oversees the Elon Sports Performance Internship program, that has trained over 200 coaches virtually and in person and aided in the development of 16 former interns who are now employed in the field of collegiate performance coaching
  • Has developed a nationally recognized performance department that provides education through talking at various clinics, podcast, social media, and authoring multiple publications
  • Assisted in the development and launch of the Elon Sports Performance Nutrition Program that led to fueling stations being installed in both weight rooms on campus
  • Led the launch of Elon Peak Performance to best assist serving the student-athletes and expanding collaboration across the Elon University campus
