Riddle Named SoCon's November Offensive Player of the Month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Despite playing in just two of Elon's three football games in November, senior quarterback Scott Riddle was recognized today as the league's offensive player of the month.  It marks the second career SoCon Player of the Month nod for Riddle.

In Phoenix victories over Furman and Western Carolina, Riddle passed for 763 yards and six touchdowns while leading Elon to its fourth consecutive winning campaign – the first time the program has compiled four or more straight winning seasons since posting nine consecutive winning years from 1980-88.  In the win over Furman, Riddle threw for 311 yards and one touchdown.  He then passed for a season-best 452 yards and five touchdowns in the season-ending decision over Western Carolina.  Riddle was named the league's offensive player of the week following that win.  For the month, Riddle posted a 168.54 efficiency rating.

Riddle's 452 passing yards against Western Carolina marked the eighth-highest passing total in league history and gave him three career 400-yard passing games.

Through the end of the regular season, Riddle ranked fourth all-time at the FCS level with 13,264 career passing yards and rated as the all-time FCS leader in completions with 1,168.  In his four seasons, Riddle threw 105 touchdown passes and passed for 200+ yards 40 times, 300+ yards 23 times and 400+ yards three times.
