Elon Signs Six Men's Cross Country Runners

ELON COLLEGE, NC -- Elon College cross country coach Bill Morningstar announced the signing of Rob Blosser, Andrew Cherry, Matt Dennison, Jack Rookstool, Jeff Trauring and David Weaver to National Letters of Intent on Monday. The Phoenix will welcome these six student-athletes to Elon's campus this fall.

Blosser, a 5-10 runner from Barboursville, VA, helped coach Jared Cronk's Covenant School program to third-place conference finishes during each of the past two campaigns. A four-year team MVP and two-year captain, Blosser ran his way to both all-conference recognition and a state meet appearance all four seasons. He is the son of Rob and Debbie Blosser.

A 5-10 runner from New Castle, DE, Cherry helped coach John Ausema's Wilmington Christian School team to a pair of division runner-up finishes. Cherry was both an all-county and an all-state performer. He is the son of Donald and Lynn Cherry.

Dennison, a 5-9 runner from Salisbury, NC, helped coach Mike Allen's Salisbury High School squad to a state championship. Dennison earned all-conference and all-county honors. He is the son of Joseph and Susan Dennison.

A 6-3 runner from Hatboro, PA, Rookstool helped coach Robert Ayton's Hatboro-Horsham Senior High School program to a league championship. The team captain earned first team all-conference status. Also a National Honor Society member, he is the son of Kenneth and Sandra Rookstool.

Trauring, a 5-9 runner from Knoxville, TN, helped coach Kellie Ivens' Farragut High School team to sweep conference, region and state titles. Trauring swept all-conference, all-region and all-state honors. He is the son of Brian and Linette Ivens.

A 6-0 runner from Burlington, CT, Weaver was a team captain and two-time MVP for Lewis S. Mills High School. Weaver ran to all-conference and all-state recognition during both his junior and senior seasons. He is the son of Matthew and Pamela Weaver.
