WILLIAMSBURG, VA--Elon men's cross country squad participated in the Tribe Open hosted by William and Mary on Saturday. Although the meet was not scored, the Phoenix recorded two top-50 finishes of the 116 runners scored.
Sophomore Brett Willi (Dublin, OH) was the top finisher for Elon, crossing the finish line in 38th place with a time of 26:55. Freshman John Tumbleston (Boone, NC) was the second runner to place in the top-50 with a time of 27:06 (41st). David Weaver (27:52) and Jeff Trauring (28:00) finished 55th and 57th respectively.
Tommy Evans, from High Point University, was the top runner in the race, finishing in 25:07.
The squad competes again on November 2 at the Big South Conference Championships held in Rock Hill, SC.
