ELON, NC -- Elon University officially released its 2002 men's soccer schedule today.

The schedule is comprised of six home contests and 13 games on the road. Visiting Rudd Field will be defending National Champion North Carolina on October 2, Long Island (home opener on September 7), and Big South provisional member Birmingham-Southern. Big South matches against Radford, Liberty and Coastal Carolina will also be played at Rudd Field.

The Phoenix will take to the road to battle non-conference foes UNC Wilmington, Campbell, East Carolina, Wofford, Marshall, Wake Forest and UNC Greensboro. Elon will travel to Dayton, Ohio to play Denver and Vermont in the Flyer Classic. Big South games against High Point, Winthrop, UNC Asheville and Charleston Southern will also be on the road in 2002.

The Phoenix are led by Mike Reilly who is in his seventh year at the helm of the Elon program and has a career record of 144-146-15 in 17 years of collegiate coaching.
