MIAMI, Fla. -- Wichita State recieved 10 points from Kiki Stephens in overtime to lead the Shockers (2-3) to a 72-68 victory over Elon (0-3) in the consolation game of the FIU/Miami Herald Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday afternoon.

With 3:32 remaining in the first half, the Phoenix found itself trailing by a 30-16 margin. Elon proceeded to outscore Wichita State 11-2 over the rest of the period to trim the halftime margin to five at 32-27.

Elon continued its hot streak to start the second half, scoring the first six points of the period to grab a 33-32 edge following a layup from Kitara McMoore.

After the fourth tie of the half, at 42-42 with 10:23 to play, Elon used an 11-4 run to open up its biggest lead of the game at 53-46 with 6:01 left in regulation. The Shockers quickly closed the gap and regained a one point advantage when a Stephens layup put Wichita State ahead 54-53 with 3:31 to go.

Down three with 2:39 left, the Phoenix tied the game at 58 on a Sade Jordan free throw with only 1:12 to play. Elon grabbed a two point edge when McMoore put home a layup with 42 ticks left on the clock.

Wichita State evened the score at 60 with only 1.2 seconds left when Stephens sank a jumper from just inside the free throw line.

Tied at 64 with 2:46 to go in overtime, Wichita State took control as to Stephens' jumpers and a layup by Antionette Wells gave the Shockers a 70-64 lead with just 55 seconds left. Elon would close the gap to 70-68 on a Jordan jumper with 25 seconds remaining, but could get no closer.

McMoore led all players with 21 points and nine rebounds en route to all-tournament honors. Shashonna Moore added 10 points off the bench for the Phoenix.

Stephens led four Shockers who finished with double digit scoring performances with 20. She also added a team-best seven rebounds. Kyrie Kinder (15), Wells (12) and Aubrey Cameron (10) each finished with double digit scoring nights.

The Phoenix will begin Southern Conference play on Tuesday night when it travels to Appalachian State for a 7:00 p.m. tip.
