Jetton, Hall Chosen to Academic All-District Team

ELON, N.C. – Elon University football players Mark Jetton (Charlotte, N.C./Providence Day) and Reggie Hall (Charlotte, N.C./Vance) were dubbed to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III University Division Football First Team today.

The squad recognizes 24 student-athletes from NCAA Division I institutions in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia as selected by a vote of members of the College Sports Information Directors of America within the district. Jetton and Hall are now eligible for consideration for the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team, to be announced next month.

A senior defensive lineman, Jetton (pictured left) was a National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame semi-finalist for the 2005 Draddy Trophy. So far in 2005, he has collected 26 tackles, including 10 solo stops, six tackles for loss and a pair of sacks to go with an interception, a pass deflection, a quarterback hurry and a fumble recovery.

Jetton earned a red-shirt at Clemson University in 2001, lettering for the Tigers as an offensive lineman in 2002 before transferring to Elon, where he has been a three-year starter on the defensive line. A two-year team captain, he has appeared in 37 college football games during his career, starting 33 contests.

Jetton carries a 3.42 cumulative grade-point average in business administration with a concentration in management. He will graduate from Elon next May, and is currently applying to law schools for next fall. Jetton is a two-time TIAA-CREF Academic All-Southern Conference Team member and a four-time Elon Dean's List member. He is also a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society.

A sophomore running back, Hall (pictured right) was ranked third in the Southern Conference and 16th in the NCAA-IAA with 110.20 rushing yards per game after starting the season’s first five contests and before suffering an injury. He currently averages 84.13 rushing yards per game – 4.52 yards per carry – to go with the six touchdowns that he has scored so far this season.

A junior academically, Hall carries a 3.53 cumulative GPA in business administration. He is a four-time Elon Dean's List member as well as a four-time Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll member.
