Elon Women Visit Chattanooga in First Post-Holiday Tilt

The Phoenix is led by junior point guard Tierra Bumbrey who is averaging 9.6 points, 7.8 assists and 4.8 steals per game. Freshman forward Amber Wall should also return to the lineup after missing three games with a facial injury. Wall is second on the team with 9.4 points per game and is leading the Phoenix with 8.0 rebounds per outing.

In UTC's last game, on Dec. 21 against UNC Asheville, Alex Anderson scored a game-high 23 points and fell just shy of a double-double with a game-leading nine rebounds. Shanara Hollinnquest added 14 markers, while both Brooke Hand and Jenaya Wade-Fray 12 points.

On the year, Anderson is averaging a double-double – scoring 18.3 ppg and pulling down 10.1 rpg. Hand and Shanara Hollinquest are also averaging double figues in scoring. Hand adds 12.9 ppg and Hollinquest 11.4. Anderson has swatted 21 shots this year.

This is the eighth meeting all-time between Elon and Chattanooga. The Phoenix is looking for its first-ever victory over the Lady Mocs as UTC has won all seven previous contests. Despite playing the Lady Mocs tough in Elon, visits to Chattanooga have not been pleasant for the Phoenix. In the three games played here, the Lady Mocs have averaged 79.0 points per game compared to just 49.7 for Elon.
