ELON, N.C. – Elon University head coach Pete Lembo today announced the addition of defensive back Walker White (Charlotte, N.C./West Mecklenburg) to his first Phoenix football team. White joins Lembo's class of 18 high school seniors who signed a national letter-of-intent on National Signing Day earlier this month.

The 6-0, 185-pound safety amassed 128 tackles, five interceptions, six fumble recoveries and 18 pass deflections last season for West Mecklenburg High School head coach Rocky White, his father. In the process, White earned All-Queen City Conference, All-Mecklenburg County and North Carolina Preps 4-A All-State recognition in 2005.

The two-time all-conference player was a starter on three high school playoff teams. He is the stepson of Anita White.
