“The opportunity to work with Pete and our corporate partners on this project has been great,” said Trip Durham, the associate director of athletics for marketing and home game management at Elon. “With our new affiliation with WPCM, this show will be fun for everyone involved this fall.”
Broadcasting live from Wings To Go on 3421 South Church Street in Burlington, the program will air every Tuesday evening for 12 weeks throughout the 2006 football season. The weekly show will air at 7-8 p.m. over WPCM-AM 920 and on the Internet at http://www.elon.edu/athletics/.
“This is a really nice on-air forum that allows the listeners to not only hear the coach, but speak with the coach as well,” said Bill Whitley, general manager at WPCM. “It’s a great addition to the Elon sports programming on WPCM. We are very excited to have Elon on the air this fall.”
Phoenix fans are encouraged to call the program at (336) 584-9292 with questions or ask in person at Wings To Go. Every week, show host David Hibbard (above right), Elon head coach Lembo (above left) and special guests will discuss highlights from the previous week’s game, preparations for the next Phoenix foe and insights about college football on the national scene.
“I am excited to participate in this radio show in conjunction with Wings To Go and WPCM,” said Lembo. “This is another positive step forward as we work to build visibility and support for our program in the local community.”
