Damion Carufe is senior managing partner with Bear Stearns and Co., Inc. The Carufe's daughter, Tori, is an Elon freshman. The Carufes are firm believers in building the university's endowment through scholarship gifts, securing Elon's future while providing opportunities for deserving students to receive an Elon education.

Endowing the scholarship qualifies the Carufes for the IMPACT (I Make Phoenix Athletics Competitive Today) Circle, the premier giving group of the Phoenix Club. The IMPACT Circle includes Phoenix Club donors who make annual gifts at the quarter, half and full scholarship levels or endow a scholarship generating equivalent annual earnings.
