"I think this win is a sign that our team is maturing," added Paul. "We stayed focused and concentrated on our game plan, no matter how the game was going."
The Phoenix took a 34-28 halftime lead to the locker room behind nine points from Bumbrey, who sank three from beyond the arc in the first frame. Elon shot 77.8% from three-point land in the first half.
Furman opened the second half with a 6-0 run as Katie Johnson scored six-straight points for the Paladins to tie the game at 34, but the Phoenix never trailed.
In the second half, Elon forced a nine-minute scoring drought from the Paladins, running the score to 50-40 in the process.
