SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Senior midfielder Brett Paschall (Summerfield, N.C.) was selected by the Southern Conference's men's soccer coaches to the 2007 Preseason All-SoCon team as announced on Tuesday. The coaches also chose the Phoenix to finish fourth in the standings this season behind Furman, UNC Greensboro and Appalachian State. Elon garnered 28 points in the balloting, five points shy of the Mountaineers for third place.
Paschall scored three goals and added two assists for eight points as a junior. His two game-winning goals (vs. Jacksonville and UNC Asheville) were tied for the team lead. Paschall was also selected to the Davidson adidas Classic All-Tournament team last season.
In his Elon career, Paschall has netted 17 goals and tallied 10 assists for 44 total points.
Paschall and the Phoenix will begin their 2007 season on September 1 with a 7:00 p.m. contest at William & Mary.
