ELON, N.C. -- On Tuesday, October 21, the Elon men's soccer team will host Duke in the annual Match to Benefit The V Foundation for Cancer Research in Rhodes Stadium at 7 p.m. Tickets are now available through the Elon Athletics Ticket Office and online at elonphoenix.com for $6 each. Fans with Phoenix Cards can get a ticket at no cost. The Rhodes Stadium gates will open at 6 p.m. and a silent auction will run through halftime. Proceeds from the auction will go directly to The V Foundation.
The Phoenix takes a four-match winning streak into Tuesday's game. Elon now sits at 6-7-1 overall and is 5-0-0 in Southern Conference play.
Elon is led by junior
Justin Wyatt who recently entered the program's career top-10 in both goals scored and points. Wyatt leads the SoCon with eight goals and 19 points.

The V Foundation has an excellent track record for finding and funding elite young scientists. Between 1994 -- when the first V Scholar grants were awarded -- and 2003, The V Foundation awarded 109 V Scholar grants to promising young researchers nationwide to help them establish their laboratories. Of those V Scholars, 93 percent have received additional funding and are still working in independent labs. An additional five percent are currently working in related research.
