SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Elon's
Aaron Parker (Louisville, Ky.) has been named the Southern Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 28-Nov. 3 as announced by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. Parker scored two goals and also tallied an assist to lead the Phoenix to a 2-0-0 week. It is his first career player of the week honor.
The senior forward posted a goal and an assist to lead Elon to a 4-3 SoCon victory over Furman to give the Phoenix an undefeated (7-0-0) mark in league play. On Saturday, he scored the game-winner as Elon topped Radford 1-0 in the regular season finale.
Parker is tied for third place in the conference with 16 points while his six assists are tied for the league lead.
Parker and the Phoenix will be the number one seed in the upcoming SoCon Tournament which begins on Saturday night. Elon will host eighth-seeded Wofford at Rudd Field at 7 p.m.
