SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Among the November Southern Conference Athletes of the Month announced by the league on Thursday was Elon's senior wide receiver
Terrell Hudgins (Rocky Mount, N.C.) who was named football's Offensive Player of the Month. Hudgins helped the Phoenix to its first-ever FCS playoff appearance with his play throughout the month of November. It is the second time this season that Hudgins has earned SoCon montly honors.
In Elon's four November games, Hudgins totaled 591 yards and three touchdowns on 41 receptions, including at least eight grabs and 127 yards in each game. In Elon's league win at Samford, Hudgins hauled in 12 balls for 167 yards and one score. The senior was named a finalist for the 2009 Walter Payton Award and set 10 NCAA records over the course of the year, including establishing a new FCS record with 123 receptions in a season. His 1,633 receiving yards this season are a new SoCon record.
Hudgins concluded his stellar career in the maroon and gold with a NCAA Division I-record 5,025 receiving yards on 395 catches, also a NCAA Division I record. He averaged 116.7 yards per game in his 45 career games.
