Women’s Soccer (12-7-1, 6-5 SoCon)
SoCon Tournament: No. 5 seeded Elon vs. No. 1 seeded #16 UNC Greensboro; Friday, Nov. 5 at 5 p.m.; Cullowhee, N.C.
• Elon women’s soccer captured its first SoCon Tournament win ever on Sunday afternoon with a 1-0 win over CofC. The fifth-seeded Phoenix received a goal in the 65th minute from
Simi Dhaliwal to down the fourth-seeded Cougars and advance to Cullowhee, N.C.
• Elon and UNCG will meet for the second time in as many weeks on Friday, as the Spartans registered a 2-1 win over Elon on Thursday, Oct. 28, at Rudd Field. Despite leading 1-0 at the half, the Phoenix gave up scores in the 54th and 63rd minute to fall to the No. 16 ranked Spartans.
• Sunday’s victory marked Elon’s 12th of the season, tying last year’s win total.
Men’s Soccer (7-5-5, 4-2-1 SoCon)
Elon vs. Radford; Tuesday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m.; Elon, N.C.

• The Phoenix is coming off a 4-1 victory at Georgia Southern on Friday afternoon in the Southern Conference regular-season finale. Chris Thomas netted his ninth and 10th goals of the year.
• Elon will honor six seniors prior to hosting Radford on Tuesday night in the final contest of the regular season.
• The league tournament begins this weekend with the top four seeds hosting games. Elon is still in the mix to host a game, but the final SoCon game featuring Wofford vs. Furman on Tuesday night will determine the Phoenix’s fate.
Football (3-5, 2-3 SoCon)
Elon at The Citadel; Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m.; Charleston, S.C.
• Elon racked up 490 yards of total offense on its way to a 49-35 victory at No. 20 Chattanooga. The Phoenix has now won five consecutive games in the series and is 4-0 when playing at UTC.
• #A.J. Harris# had a career game in the victory, rushing 31 times for 163 yards and four touchdowns.
• Elon will play its final road game of the season on Saturday, travelling to The Citadel for a 2 p.m. showdown with the Bulldogs.
• The Phoenix has won the last two in the series with The Citadel, but trails the all-time series 6-3.
Women’s Basketball
Elon vs. Chowan (Exhibition); Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.; Elon, N.C.
• The Phoenix plays its first and only exhibition game on Friday, Nov. 5, when it hosts Chowan at 7 p.m. inside Alumni Gym.
• Elon returns 12 players from last year’s squad, including three starters. The team also welcomes four newcomers.
• Reigning Southern Conference Freshman of the Year and first-team all-league selection
Ali Ford returns as Elon’s leading scorer from a year ago. Ford averaged 16.1 points per game last season.
Men’s Basketball

• Men’s basketball will play in the newly renovated Alumni Gym for the first time when Greensboro College comes to town for the first of two Elon exhibition games.
• Junior
Drew Spradlin was named to the 2010-11 Preseason All-Conference team — one of only two North Divison players to be selected to the squad.
• Elon welcomes four newcomers to this year’s team —
Ryley Beaumont,
Jack Isenbarger,
Sebastian Koch and
Lucas Troutman.
• The Phoenix will host Washington & Lee on Saturday night. The game time is TBA based on whether the men’s soccer team hosts a conference tournament game.
Cross Country
Pack Invitational; Saturday, Nov. 6; Cary, N.C.
• The Elon men’s and women’s cross country teams wrapped up action at the 2010 SoCon Championship on Oct. 30, as the Phoenix men placed fifth and the women sixth.
• True freshmen
Nick Schneider and
Ben Perron were named to the SoCon All-Freshman team on the men’s side, while
Allyson Oram and
Jackie Madden picked up the same honor for the women.
• After this weekend’s competition, the Phoenix heads to Louisville, Ky. on Nov. 13 for the 2010 NCAA Southeast Regional.
Men’s Golf
Elon at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate; Monday-Tuesday, Nov. 1-2; Sapphire, N.C.
• The Elon men’s golf team will conclude its fall slate with the Hummingbird Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina on Monday and Tuesday.
• The field at the Hummingbird Intercollegiate consists of 18 teams, including five Southern Conference foes – Appalachian State, Furman, Samford, Western Carolina and Wofford.
• In its last event, the Phoenix placed in a tie for sixth among 18 teams at the ODU/Outerbanks Collegiate Invitational with a three-round score of 872.
• In that event, Elon’s
Tanner Norton placed in a tie for 13th individually with a final mark of 214 (72-72-70).
Volleyball (16-13, 7-5 SoCon)
Elon at UNC Greensboro; Friday, November 5 at 6 p.m.; Greensboro, N.C.
Elon at Wofford; Saturday, November 6 at 7 p.m.; Spartenburg, S.C.
• Elon swept Radford, 3-0 (25-16, 25-21, 25-22) on Tuesday and won an exciting match at Chattanooga, 3-2 (22-25, 25-22, 25-19, 21-25, 15-9), on Saturday, but suffered a sweep, 3-0 (19-25, 23-25, 23-25), at Samford on Sunday.
• Senior
Sarah Schermerhorn recorded 13 kills on 19 attempts and no errors for a .684 attack percentage at Radford and 10 kills on 16 attempts and no errors for a .625 attack percentage at Samford. The Colfax, N.C., native finished the week with 40 kills on 79 attempts with only four errors and a .456 attack percentage.
• Junior
Caroline Lemke matched her career-high with nine total blocks in Elon's match at Chattanooga on Saturday. Lemke finished the week with 15 total blocks (two solo blocks and 13 assisted).
