SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon senior pitcher Lauren Taylor has been named the Southern Conference Pitcher of the Week for all games played between February 28 to March 6, the league office announced today, March 7. The award marks Taylor’s second weekly league honor of the season and Elon’s fourth-straight weekly accolade since the season began.

Taylor started two games and went 2-1 at the Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla.  The Lilllington, N.C., native went 13.2 innings in the circle with a 1.62 ERA, allowing only three runs off 14 hits while striking out 16.  Taylor improved her season record to 6-2 with an overall ERA of 1.88.  Taylor also received the weekly honor on Feb. 21.

Elon (11-4) begins league play this weekend with a three-game set in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. to face College of Charleston on Saturday and Sunday, March 12-13.
