ELON – Elon head softball coach Kathy Bocock announced the addition of Alexis Pupillo as an assistant coach to her 2027 staff on Monday.
 
Pupillo joins the Phoenix after concluding her playing career at Alabama, where she was a member of the Crimson Tide from 2025-26. Before transferring to Alabama, Pupillo played at Northern Iowa from 2023-24.
 
"We are thrilled to welcome Alexis to our coaching staff," said Bocock. "Her experience as a student-athlete at Alabama gives her a unique perspective and an understanding of what it takes to compete and succeed at the highest level of college softball. Alexis brings tremendous knowledge and passion for the game, and we are excited about the perspective she will bring to our entire program. She is also committed to continuing to grow as a coach, including pursuing her strength and conditioning certification. We believe she will be a tremendous addition to our staff and to the Elon Softball family, and we can't wait to see all that she will bring to our program."
 
During her collegiate career, Pupillo collected numerous individual accolades, including third-team National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-America honors in 2026. The Crystal Lake, Illinois, native was also named a first-team College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American and earned first-team NFCA All-South Region recognition during her senior campaign.
 
Pupillo played in 118 games and made 110 starts at Alabama, posting a .350 batting average with the Crimson Tide. During the 2026 season, Pupillo hit 20 home runs and drove in 62 runs. She earned second-team All-SEC honors and was named to the SEC All-Tournament Team while helping Alabama advance to the Women's College World Series.
 
At Northern Iowa, Pupillo was a two-time first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selection from 2023-24 and was named the conference's Freshman of the Year. She started all 93 games in which she appeared and helped the Panthers earn 72 victories and the 2023 MVC regular-season championship.
 
"I am so incredibly grateful for this wonderful opportunity that Coach Bo has given me," Pupillo said. "I am really looking forward to working with the student-athletes and sharing my knowledge of the game with them. Coach Bo has done an incredible job of creating a successful program, and I am blessed to be a part of it. I can't wait to get to work."
 
Pupillo graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in human environmental sciences in the spring of 2026.
