ELON, N.C. -- Due to an illness, Elon head football coach
Jason Swepson will not be on the sideline for Saturday's football game against West Virginia State. Swepson experienced chest pains Friday morning and was admitted to a Raleigh hospital for evaluation. He will be kept at the hospital Friday night and his doctors advised against carrying out his coaching duties while they are determining the cause of the chest pains.
In Swepson’s absence for this game, defensive coordinator Ed Pinkham will serve as head coach on the field with assistance from offensive coordinator Chris Pincince and special teams coordinator Scott Browne.
