KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Elon University men's soccer team earned its fifth straight National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award as announced by the association on Thursday, Nov. 21. The Phoenix was one of 269 institutions to receive the award after posting a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the 2012-13 academic year.

Darren Powell. "Our academic coordinators,
Cayce Crenshaw and
Jayme Pendergast, have done a fantastic job with our players and I want to congratulate them as well for their efforts and support this past year."
A total of 862 college soccer teams (269 men, 593 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the NSCAA Team Academic Award for the 2012-13 academic year. Elon was also one of 182 schools that had both its men's and women's soccer programs recognized.
