As the 2013 Elon men's soccer season continues to approach, elonphoenix.com will begin to highlight members of the 2013 squad throughout the preseason with series of player profiles. The profiles will give fans, family and friends an inside look at the two-time defending Southern Conference tournament champions prior before the start of the regular-season on Aug. 30 vs. Northeastern in the Duke Classic in Durham, N.C.
Our next player in the player profile series is junior goalkeeper Nathan Dean, a native of Liverpool, England. A two-year starter, Dean played every minute between the posts last season and led the Southern Conference in saves with 84 and had a GAA of 1.35. He also helped anchor a backline defense that posted seven shutouts on the year, including three versus ranked opponents. An economics major, Dean was also named to the SoCon's All-Academic team in 2012.
