Elon to Honor Three Hall Of Fame Inductees
At halftime of tonight's game, Elon will recognize the three newest members of the Elon Sports Hall of Fame. In a ceremony earlier today, Holly Andrews ('04; WBB), William "Tank" Hardin ('90; BB) and Pramote "Ter" Malasitt ('05; MTen) were inducted into the hall of fame.
The 2001-02 Big South Conference Player of the Year, Andrews was a two-time first-team All-Big South honoree and an All-Southern Conference selection. At the conclusion of her career, Andrews ranked among Elon's career top 10 in points (5th, 1,403), points per game (6th, 13.8 ppg in 102 contests), field goals made (8th, 496), field goals attempted (6th, 1,344), three-point field goals made (2nd, 154), three-point field goals attempted (2nd, 446), three-point field goal percentage (1st, 34.5), free throws made (6th, 257), free throw percentage (2nd, 78.4), assists (9th, 214) and blocks (6th, 48). Andrews was a two-time recipient of Elon's Stein H. Basnight Award presented to the top female athlete at the university.
Hardin, a catcher and third baseman, played for the maroon and gold from 1986-87 and was named the NAIA District 26 Player of the Year, All-Carolinas Conference and All-District 26 in 1986. That same year, Hardin was an honorable mention selection to the NAIA All-America squad. In 1986, he led the team with 46 runs scored and 13 home runs. The following year, Hardin hit .348 with 35 runs scored, five doubles, seven home runs and 33 RBI. A native of Lumberton, N.C., Hardin helped Elon reach the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, and achieve a final ranking of fifth nationally in 1987.
A native of Bangkok, Thailand, Malasitt earned both the Robert C. Browne Memorial Sportsmanship Award and the A.L Hook Scholar-Athlete honor during his junior season. He also collected the 2005 Stein H. Basnight Award and is the only Elon athlete to ever receive the program's top three awards (Hook, Browne and Basnight). A two-time team MVP, Malasitt earned All-Big South honors in both singles and doubles in both 2002 and 2003 before claiming first-team All-SoCon accolades in both singles and doubles in 2004 and 2005. Malasitt was the 2005 recipient of the Buddy Hartsell/Don Bunch Southern Conference Sportsmanship Award. In 2005, he earned Academic All-America accolades. Malasitt was a Southern Conference Commissioner's Medal recipient as well as an Arthur Ashe, Jr. Sports Scholar. He compiled a career singles mark of 52-25 playing primarily at number one. He also notched a career doubles mark of 58-18, all of which came at the number one spot.
Williams Named to Good Works Team
Junior defensive back Miles Williams has been named to the 22-player roster for the 2013 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team. William is involved in numerous community service projects in the Elon and Burlington communities. The junior has mentored and tutored at-risk youth through the Positive Attitudes Youth Center as well as a tutoring program at Elon First Baptist Church. He was named the 2012 Counselor of the Summer while serving with the Alamance County Community YMCA. Williams has also been involved with Special Olympics, Elonthon and Phoenix Field Day. In January, Williams will travel to Africa as a part of the Friends of Ghana program. While in Ghana, he will assist the city of Sokode with construction of a middle school and raising scholarship funds. The group will also aid in a Heifer International livestock improvement project and provide school supplies for a number of Ghanaian children.
Recognizing the "good works" of a select group of college football players from across the country, the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team is one of the most prestigious off-the-field honors in college sports. The award pays tribute to the positive impact these young athletes have had on their communities and the lives of others.
Nesting at Home
Now in the 92nd year of Elon's program history, the Phoenix owns an all-time record of 486-408-18 (.543) – including a sizzling 176-84-3 (.674) in 52 seasons of home games at Burlington Memorial Stadium and a mark of 35-33 (.515) in its current home at Rhodes Stadium. Since 2007, Elon has gone 23-11 (.676) in the confines of Rhodes Stadium.
Tough Slate
Elon's 2013 schedule will challenge the Phoenix. Of the 10 NCAA Division I FCS programs on the slate, four earned berths in the 2012 FCS playoffs – Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, Wofford and Coastal Carolina. The 10 FCS foes compiled a total of 66 victories a year ago.

Former Elon offensive lineman Rodney Austin, an undrafted free agent in 2012, has been placed on the practice squad with the Detroit Lions.
