ELON, N.C. --Â Members of the Elon University football team recently gathered one the evening at the Blakey Hall assisted living community to spend time with the residents for dessert, dancing and fellowship.
"The guys and I really enjoyed spending time and dancing with the ladies at Blakey Hall," said junior linebacker
Alexander Dawson. Â "It was a rewarding experience and we are glad they enjoyed it. Â We are looking forward to going back."
Director of Activities Judy Simpson said, "Our residents thrive on intergenerational relationships with Elon students. Â Interacting with the players brought them feelings that took them back to the days of their youth. Â Every resident in the room felt twenty-something. Â It was great to see both generations enjoying themselves with good conversation, good food, good music and a good dance partner."
Please continue to check back to elonphoenix.com as we update various community service projects throughout the spring.
