ELON, N.C. – The Elon University dance team will be holding tryouts for the 2018-19 squad on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21, 2018 in studio six of the Koury Athletic Center.

Registration for the dance tryouts will begin at 5 p.m. on April 20 in studio six inside of campus recreation. The tryout will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will focus on technique. Following that session, a first cut will be made. Those advancing will remain to learn material for Saturday's final audition. The Saturday session will be in the same location and begin at noon.

Tryouts are open to any current Elon student as well as anyone who will be enrolling at Elon next year. The tryouts will require high kick combinations, switch/side leaps (and more), disc, calypso, toe touch (double), extension, leg holds and turns, ponche, triple/quad pirouettes, fouettes, acro skills, etc.

Those trying out must wear a black crop top/sports bra and black short biker/jazz dance shorts. No loose-fitting clothing will be allowed. Dance shoes are required. Shoes are personal preference, sneakers are suggested for hip hop. No jewelry, with the exception of stud earrings, is permitted. Hair and makeup should be "game day ready" and kept out of your face.
