• Elon went 3-1 on the week and ran its home winning streak to six games thanks to a three-game sweep of Rider in which the Phoenix outscored the Broncs 47-7.
• In Saturday's win over Rider, Elon eclipsed the 20-run mark (21) for the first time since a 24-12 victory over No. 8 NC State in 2013. The team's 24 hits were the most since recording 23 hits in a 2015 win over Penn State. In the win, Garrett Stonehouse went 5-for-6 with five RBI and four runs scored. He became the first Phoenix player since 2016 to have a five-hit game and the first to score four times since that same year. Zach Evers also had two triples in the game, marking the first multi-triple game by an Elon player since 2008.
• On Sunday, Rider scored four runs to snap Elon's streak of holding opponents to two or fewer runs at six games. The six-game streak is tied for the second-longest in program history and was the longest since a six-game streak in 1974.

• The Phoenix earned its sixth Top 5 finish of the season dating back to the start of the fall campaign with a fifth-place finish at the Pinehurst Intercollegiate.
• William Harwood was Elon's top individual finisher at the tournament, as the defending Pinehurst Intercollegiate Champion placed 13th at Pinehurst Country Club this year. The Phoenix had five of its six competitors finish in the Top 30 with the sixth missing by one stroke. A total of three Phoenix finished in the Top 20. 
• Elon returns to action Sunday and Monday, March 25-26, at the Seahawk Intercollegiate at the Country Club of Landfall.

• The Phoenix closed a five-match homestand a winner of four matches in a row to push its record to 9-5 on the year through 14 matches. Last week, Elon beat VCU on Saturday, March 17, by a 6-1 margin to post the biggest win in in the series against the Rams to date. 
• Against VCU, Elon put the pedal to the metal from the start in winning the doubles points and picked up wins from Felipe Sarrasague, Mario Paccini and Kyle Frankel at Nos. 1, 2 and 3 to claim the victory. Finishing off the day, Salvador Mijares and Felipe Osses-Konig earned three-set victories at Nos. 4 and 6, respectively, to polish off the 6-1 win. 
• Now a winner of six of its last seven matches, Elon will start a run with five of its next six on the road. First, it will head to South Carolina this week for spring break to battle Coastal Carolina and USC Upstate.

• The Phoenix hosts College of Charleston in its first Colonial Athletic Association series of the year this weekend on March 24 and 25. Elon and CofC meet for a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 1 p.m. before closing out the three-game set on Sunday, also at 1 p.m.
• Elon concluded its stay at the USF Series – Michele Smith Spring Break Tournament this weekend from March 16-18 in Tampa, Fla. The Phoenix earned victories against former conference foe Chattanooga and 2017 NCAA Tournament team Princeton. Elon also took a 15-1 victory over the Tigers in its finale at the tournament, the most runs it has plated in a contest this season.
• Senior Kara Shutt tied the program's all-time career doubles record after reaching the 51st of her career versus Chattanooga on Saturday, March 17. The Greensboro, N.C., native tied Carleigh Nester '14 on the top of the program's all-time list. Fellow senior Kiandra Mitchum moved into the Top 5 in school history in strikeouts with 347 after fanning 10 Mocs in Elon's 4-3 victory.
      
Women's Basketball (25-8, 14-4 CAA)
Season complete.
• Elon's 2017-18 campaign came to an end Friday, March 16, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with a loss to fourth-seeded NC State inside Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh. 
• The team's season ends winning 13 of its final 14 games going back to Jan. 28. Elon's 25 wins marks back-to-back 25-plus win seasons for just the third time in program history and the first time since 1981-82. 
• Shay Burnett finished her career with 1,567 points to place the fourth-most in program history. She also finished with 894 rebounds to place fourth in program history and her 563 assists is second all-time. 
• Over the course of the last two seasons, Elon has posted a combined 52-15 record with a regular-season CAA title, two CAA Tournament titles and two trips to the NCAA Tournament. This year's senior class became the first Division I class to reach postseason play all four seasons with the program in going to the WNIT in 2015 and 2016 and the NCAA Tournament in 2017 and 2018. 
 
Women's Golf
Elon at John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate | Sunday-Tuesday, March 25-27 | Stockbridge, Ga.
• The Phoenix will be back in action later this week at the John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate hosted by Georgia State. Elon last played in the event in 2016, capturing the team title by 12 strokes over Eastern Kentucky.
• Elon last competed in the River Landing Classic, hosted by UNCW, from March 5-6, placing 9th out of 14 teams.
• Heather Munro led the way for the Phoenix, tying for 27th out of 83 players. She posted 40 pars over three rounds. Adel Vadkerti fired a one-under 71 over the final round to finish 40th and posted nine total birdies during the tournament.
 
Women's Lacrosse (1-7, 0-0 CAA)

• The Phoenix will close non-conference play this weekend with a game against ACC-foe Virginia Tech at Rudd Field on Saturday, March 24, at 1 p.m. 
• Last week, Elon earned its first win of the season by beating Coastal Carolina 14-6 in Conway, S.C. In the game, Stephanie Asher led the Phoenix with four goals while also picking up 10 draw controls to set a new program record for most in a single game.
• Against Coastal Carolina, Abby Godfrey also doubled her season goal total with three. She also had two assists for a team-best five points. Alexis Zadjura led a strong defensive effort with four ground balls and three caused turnovers. 
 
Women's Track & Field
Elon at ECAC indoor Championships | Thursday-Sunday, March 1-4 | Boston
• Elon is set to compete in its second outdoor meet of the season at the USC/Winthrop Invitational this weekend in Colombia, S.C.
• The Phoenix is coming off opening its outdoor season last weekend, March 16-17, at the 49er Classic in Charlotte, N.C. It was the team's first meet since closing its indoor season at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championships from March 2-4.
• Bryanna Hames had a throw of 155' 8" (47.45m) to win the discus at the 49er Classic last Friday, March 16. The Charlotte, N.C., native was one of three Phoenix athletes that finished in the Top 5 of the event along with Bre'anna Warren, who was third overall with her mark of 155' 4" (47.34m) while sophomore Skylar Barthelmes was fifth with her toss of 148' 3" (45.20m). Warren set a new personal-record in the shot put, as the redshirt senior had a throw of 48' 4.75" (14.75m) and was third overall in the event for Elon.
 
Women's Tennis (8-9)
Elon vs. Johnson C. Smith | Friday, March 23 | 1 p.m. | Jimmy Powell Tennis Center
• The Phoenix dropped two close contests last week against UMass and UAB. Elon fell to the Minutewomen in a tight 4-1 affair on Wednesday in Greensboro. The maroon and gold then dropped a close 4-3 test on Thursday afternoon against the Blazers.
• Head coach Elizabeth Anderson currently has 193 career. She is seven away from reaching 200-career victories as a head coach.
• Elon returns to the courts for one match this week on Friday, March 23, hosting Johnson C. Smith at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
