ELON, N.C. – Ready for a historic night for the program, Elon University volleyball will take on North Carolina A&T on Tuesday, Aug. 28, at 7 p.m. for the first collegiate athletic competition inside Schar Center.

TUESDAY'S PROMOTIONS
-Students, the first event for the Two-Phase lottery toward winning tickets to the Elon vs. North Carolina men's basketball game on Nov. 9 is Tuesday night at the volleyball match against North Carolina A&T.
-Students need to swipe their card at the marketing table near the front entrance to Schar Center as they enter the facility, and again as they leave starting with the third set.
SERIES HISTORY
Elon has owned North Carolina A&T over the years, owning a 30-9 advantage on the Aggies. The Phoenix has won 11 matches in a row against N.C. A&T going back to Oct. 9, 2007, and has not dropped a set since Nov. 10, 2009.
LAST TIME OUT
Elon closed a sweep of the Charlotte Invitational with a 3-2, come-from-behind victory over USC Upstate.

Madi Genaway had a team-best 17 kills and 12 digs for the first double-double of her career.

Kellyn Trowse also had 10 kills and eight digs with three blocks and fellow first-year
Leah Daniel finished with eight kills and four digs.
ALL-TOURNEY TEAMS

Maddie Jaudon was named Co-MVP of the Charlotte Invitational after averaging 4.92 digs per set over the course of the three matches.

Kellyn Trowse was also named to the All-Tournament Team after posting two matches with double-digit kills with at least seven digs and three blocks in all three matches.

Kam Terry reached 1,000 kills for her career in the first set against Charlotte on Friday, Aug. 24.
-The senior from Marengo, Ohio, is now less than 100 kills away from reaching the program's Top 10 chart for the category.
DOUBLE-DOUBLE MACHINE
On opening weekend,
Kodi Garcia recorded her 13th and 14th career double-doubles in maroon and gold.
-The sophomore from Tomball, Texas, had 33 assists and 11 digs in the season opener against Presbyterian before posting 40 assists and 16 digs in the win over USC Upstate.
-She nearly also had a double-double against Charlotte with 44 assists and eight digs.
PRESEASON ACCOLADES
-
Kodi Garcia was named one of 10 student-athletes to the Preseason All-CAA Team as an honorable mention.
-It marks the second straight season an Elon player has been named a preseason honorable mention after
Sydney Busa earned the distinction and went on to be a First Team All-CAA honoree after the year in 2017.
-Garcia had 1,279 assists in 2017, tying for the most in a season in Elon's Division I era and the second-most in program history on the way to earning CAA Rookie of the Year.
ITALIAN MADE
-Over Spring Break 2018, Elon volleyball went to Italy to visit Milan, Como, Cinque Terre, Pisa, Florence, Assisi and Rome.
-During the trip, the team visited Lake Como, the tiny villages that form the Five Lands "Cinque Terre," the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Basilica of Saint Francis, the Colosseum, the Vatican City and more.
-It also battled a pair of professional Italian volleyball teams.
