SERIES HISTORY
-Elon and New Hampshire have met five times to date with the Wildcats owning a 4-1 lead in the series.
-Last season, Elon earned a 30-9 victory over New Hampshire on Family Weekend at Rhodes Stadium with
Marcus Willoughby leading Elon's strong defensive effort. Overall, the Phoenix allowed just 46 yards in the second half and Willoughby finished with 4.5 tackles for loss to set the tone.
LAST TIME OUT
-No. 2 James Madison ran for 336 yards at Rhodes Stadium on the way to a 45-10 win on Family Weekend at Elon.
-Elon scored on the second play of the game with a 66-yard touchdown strike from
Davis Cheek to
Avery Jones. After that, JMU rattled off 38-straight points on the way to the win.
COACH'S HOMECOMING
-Elon head coach
Tony Trisciani, a Manchester, N.H., native, makes his head coaching debut in his home state this weekend.
-Trisciani spent six seasons from 1998-99 and 2001-04 as a coach at New Hampshire before moving on to other stops on the way to his first head-coaching job here at Elon.
-Along the way, he coached with each of UNH's last two head coaches in Bill Bowes and Sean McDonnell. During his time at UNH, he also coached with Ryan Day (head coach, Ohio State) and Chip Kelly (head coach, UCLA). During one stint, he was Kelly's roommate and they carpooled to and from work together.Â
