Elon Finishes Regular Season at Towson

ELON, N.C. – Elon University volleyball finishes the regular season this Friday, Nov. 15 with a 7 p.m. match at Towson.

SERIES HISTORY
The Tigers (24-2, 14-0) took the first meeting against Elon in four sets on Oct. 13. Leah Daniel paced the Phoenix (13-16, 7-8) with 11 kills. Kellyn Trowse followed with nine kills, Kodi Garcia tallied 20 assists, and Haylie Clark added 14 assists. On the other side of the net, Isabella Seman finished with 12 digs, Jenn Krzeminski made three blocks, and Daniel and Nori Thomas had two blocks each. Elon claimed the opening set 25-23, but Towson won the next three.

The CAA regular season champions this year, the Tigers own a 12-1 lead in the all-time series. Emily Jarome leads the offense with 280 kills, and Olivia Finckel follows with 258. Marrisa Wonders is the primary setter with 1,029 assists, and Camryn Allen has team highs of 32 aces and 340 digs. At the net, Lydia Wiers and Silvia Grassini have combined for 214 blocks. 

PHOENIX EARNS CAA TOURNEY BID
With a 3-0 sweep at Delaware last Sunday, Elon clinched a spot in the upcoming CAA Championship Tournament. The Phoenix will make its second appearance in the CAA Tournament since joining the league in 2014. The team made its first appearance during the 2017 season, but fell to third-seeded James Madison in five sets. Sunday was the first sweep of the Blue Hens in the all-time series.

Daniel hit for .353 and led both teams with 16 kills. The Zionsville, Ind. native also served an ace and made a block assist to account for 17.5 points. Clark finished with 17 assists, Garcia followed with 15, and Natalie Cummins had two aces with four blocks. Seman was close to double-digit digs with nine, while Trowse and Jordan Gower each had five digs.

UP NEXT
Elon secured the No. 5 seed for the CAA Championship Tournament, hosted by Hostra on Nov. 22-24.
