Zac Ervin's deep three with 14:06 remaining in the half gave Elon its largest lead of the night at 20-11.

After a quick UNC run, both teams battled for the lead for the final eight minutes of the first half. Elon entered the break leading 33-32 over the No. 5 ranked team in the nation.

The Tar Heels returned from halftime and went on an early run to take a 15-point lead with just under 13 minutes remaining in the game. With the Phoenix trailing by 14 at the 10-minute mark, two Woods free throws and a Poser bucket brought Elon back within 10.
