ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball will remain at home for a Monday, Dec. 2, matchup with Kennesaw State at 7 p.m.

COVERAGE
• Elon's contest against Kennesaw State will be streamed live on FloSports.

THE MATCHUP
• This marks the fourth time that Elon and UT Arlington will meet in program history, with Elon leading the series 3-0.
• The Phoenix defeated Kennesaw State 76-67 in their most recent meeting on Dec. 18, 2018.
 
ABOUT ELON
• So far this season, Elon is off to a 2-6 start, with both wins on the year coming at Schar Center.
• The Phoenix is led by senior guard Marcus Sheffield who is posting 17.4 points per game to go along with 5.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per contest.
• Hunter Woods and Hunter McIntosh are combining to average 17.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per outing.
• Simon Wright leads the team in rebounding at 6.3 per game, adding 7.1 points per game as well.
• Elon is led by first year head coach Mike Schrage, who spent two seasons as an assistant at Ohio State before becoming Elon's head coach.
• The Phoenix have no seniors on the roster with the exception of graduate transfer Marcus Sheffield, who earned a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention.
• Additionally, the Phoenix made six new additions to the squad for 2019-20 in first-year players Hunter McIntosh, Hunter Woods, Zac Ervin and Ben Daugherty, while also adding two transfers in Marcus Sheffield (Stanford) and Jerald Gillens-Butler (Butler).
 
SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE
• Kennesaw State is a Division I institution out of Kennesaw, Ga. that competes in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASun).
• The Owls are off to a 0-5 start this season after falling to Iona 75-52 in their most recent contest.
• Kennesaw State is in its first season under head coach Amir Abdur Rahim, who spent time at the University of Georgia and Texas A&M prior to joining the Owls program.
• The Owls are led by Tyler Hooker and Bryson Lockley, who are tied for the team lead in scoring at 8.6 points per game. Armani Harris leads the team in rebounding at 7.0 per game, contributing 7.8 points per contest as well.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• In its most recent outing, Elon fell to UT Arlington 77-67 on Thursday, Nov. 28.
• The Phoenix was led by senior guard Marcus Sheffield who dropped a season-high 25 points, adding a team-high six rebounds as well. Simon Wright contributed 10 points, five rebounds and two assists of his own.

Following that game, Elon will be back in action for a Thursday night road contest with High Point. That matchup is slated to begin at 7 p.m. on Dec. 5.
