Box Score TOWSON, Md. – Elon University women's lacrosse dropped its CAA road contest Friday night, April 12, against Towson by the score of 16-4 at Unitas Stadium.

THE RUNDOWN
Elon (3-10, 1-2 CAA) got on the board first with
Grace Simpson converting a free position shot nearly seven minutes into the game to break the ice early. But after a pair of
Paulina DiFatta saves in the opening eight minutes, Towson broke through with 21:54 to go in the opening half to start a 9-0 run into halftime.

Out of the break, Elon ended the slide with
Mae McGlynn scoring her first of two goals on the day with 20:41 to go to make it a 10-2 contest. Down the stretch, though, the Tigers added six more goals before
Quinn Daly could score in the closing 72 seconds to take the win.

HIGHLIGHTS
McGlynn led Elon with two goals to extend her team-best mark to 32 on the season. Daly also recorded three ground balls and a caused turnover to go with her goal in the closing minutes.
Gillian Curran finished the day with three draw controls and two caused turnovers and DiFatta finished with nine saves in the cage.

Towson was led by Natalie Sulmonte's six goals and an assist for seven points. She also picked up 10 draw controls on the day. Kerri Thornton scored Towson's first goal of the day and finished with two tallies, an assist, two draw controls and a ground ball. Sami Chenoweth collected a game-high four ground balls and caused four turnovers to go with one draw control.

UP NEXT
Elon will return home for its final CAA home game of the year on Sunday, April 14, to take on Delaware. Opening draw on Phoenix All-Access is set for 12 noon at Rudd Field. After that, the Phoenix will hit the road for two CAA games in a row at James Madison (April 19) and William & Mary (April 26) before closing the regular season with Senior Day at home on Sunday, April 28, against Coastal Carolina.
