ELON, N.C. – Making its fourth-straight appearance in the CAA Tournament, Elon University women's lacrosse will take on top-seeded and ninth-ranked James Madison on Friday, May 3, at 4:05 p.m. in the CAA Semifinals on Lax Sports Network.

THE GAME IS...

SCOUTING JAMES MADISON
-Led by the CAA's Defensive Player, Goalkeeper and Coach of the Year, JMU enters the CAA Tournament looking to defend its crown after winning it each of the last two seasons going back to 2017.
-Hanna Haven leads the team with 36 goals and 33 assists for 69 points. Logan Brennan is second with 31 goals and 12 assists for 43 points.
-In goal, Molly Dougherty is 13-3 with a .523 save percentage and a 9.01 goals against average.

THE SERIES
-Elon trails the all-time series 6-0 to date.
-This marks the second time Elon and JMU are meeting in the CAA Tournament. Last time came in 2017 when JMU defeated Elon 15-7 in the CAA title game.
-Two weeks ago to the day on Friday, JMU beat Elon 16-8 in Harrisonburg, Va.

LAST TIME OUT
-On Senior Day at Rudd Field, Elon answered Coastal Carolina runs all afternoon to come away with a 15-13 victory. 
-Trailing 11-9 with 14:32 to play, Elon went on a 4-0 run to take a 13-11 lead with 8:25 to go. Though CCU came back to tie it, Gillian Curran scored the game-winning goal with 1:48 to play and Shannon Horan added the insurance with 21 seconds left to claim the victory.

ALL-CAA HONORS
-Following the regular season, Kaley Thompson was named the CAA Rookie of the Year while Shannon Horan and Quinn Daly picked up Second Team All-CAA recognitions.
-Thompson is second on the team with 31 goals to go with seven assists for 38 points. She also leads the team with 59 draw controls.
-Horan, Elon's defensive stalwart all season long, earned her first All-CAA honor since earning CAA All-Rookie honors in 2016.
-Daly, who was named to the All-Rookie Team last season and picked up Preseason All-CAA honors before the 2019 season, has 12 goals and three assist for 15 points while leading Elon's field players with 28 ground balls on the season.

CAA WEEKLY HONORS
-Mae McGlynn was named the CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after her five-goal performance against Campbell in the season opener.
-Bella Feldman was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 11 after scoring four goals at Campbell in her collegiate debut.
-Kaley Thompson picked up CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 26 after a week with four goals, five assists and 13 draw controls in Elon's two games. Against Winthrop, Thompson finished with four goals, four assists and eight draw controls. 
-Thompson earned a second CAA Rookie of the Week honor on April 8 after scoring six goals against Drexel in Elon's CAA opener. In all, she tallied seven goals and had nine draw controls during Elon's CAA opening weekend. 

UP NEXT
-With a victory, Elon will meet the winner of second-seeded Towson and third-seeded Hofstra on Sunday, May 5, at 12:05 p.m. on Lax Sports Network with the winner there earning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
