Duke leads the overall series 9-1. The Blue Devils won the most recent match 4-3 on Jan. 12, 2019.
ABOUT ELON
-The Phoenix opened its season on Saturday, Jan. 10 with a road match against #23 NC State. The Wolfpack won the match, 7-0.
-In #1 doubles,
Camilo Ponce and
Kyle Frankel competed against Tadas Babelis and Yannai Barkai, the #32 duo in the nation. Ponce and Frankel were leading 5-3, but the match was eventually called after the other doubles contests finished.
-Frankel also competed in #1 singles against Alexis Galarneau, a senior that ended the 2019 season ranked #23 in Oracle/ITA Rankings. After a competitive first set (7-5), Frankel fell 6-1 in set two.
-Elon is led by sixteenth-year head coach and reigning CAA Coach of the Year

DEFENDING CHAMPIONS
-The Phoenix enters the season as the defending CAA champions. Last April, Elon made a comeback to upset two-time defending champion UNCW, 4-3, and capture the conference title for the first time in program history. With the win, the Phoenix earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, where it made its first appearance since 2014.
-
Kyle Frankel was selected as the Most Outstanding Performer at the 2019 CAA Men's Tennis Championship in a vote by the league's coaches. He went 3-0 in singles and 2-0 in doubles.

NEW FACES
-With multiple seniors departing the team after winning the CAA title, Elon has reloaded with four new faces to the team. They include
Nicholas Condos,
Sam Dively,
Luke Queiroz, and
Chung-Han Tsai.
-While attending Wayne Country Day School, Dively was a six-time All-State selection, a five-time MVP, a News and Observer All-Metro Team honoree, and the N&O Player of the Year. He finished his high school career ranked No. 163 nationally by Tennis Recruiting for the class of 2019.
-Condos had success at the junior tennis level, including being ranked No. 1 among the New England Boys 18s. He was also ranked No. 1 in the state of Connecticut and No. 93 in the nation for his senior class.
-Tsai comes to Elon after spending two seasons at Southern Miss. As a freshman, he earned Second-Team All-C-USA recognition in doubles, combining for the best doubles record on the team (15-2) with Wen-Po Tseng.

SCOUTING DUKE
-The Blue Devils currently hold a record of 3-0.
-Duke picked up two 6-1 wins over UNCW and North Carolina A&T on Saturday, Jan. 18 Â in the Sheffield Tennis Center.
-Luca Keist claimed two doubles victories while earning two wins in singles action.
